Mac Venomous Villains UK Bloggers Event

Yes really. Mac had their first bloggers event in London to preview their new collection!

Despite me being uninterested in 'Venomous Villains' as I HATE the packaging, I still managed to attend and am glad I did as I did end up buying some things and hanging out with my favourite bloggers - Woot!

I got 3 lipsticks, 'Innocence Beware!' the nude, 'Toxic Tale' the coral and 'Dark Deed' the dark wine.

I still dislike the packagaing even after seeing it in real life, but at least it's black.

The nude you can understand, the coral 'OK' well the deep wine colour? What was I thinking when I purchased 'Dark Deed'? This is what I was thinking.... Dark lips in the style of Megan Fox! I will "try" to rock it. :)

'Toxic Tale' is very similar to 'Vegas Volt' which I don't own but more pinker and less orange, it's a satin finish and very pigmented. It's not something that you "need" but it does look gorgeous on!

'Innocence Beware!'
is almost identical to 'Creme D'nude' but more pink, however it's not as dark as 'Creme Cup', it's most similar to 'Hue' but a tiny bit more pink, see swatch comparisons below.

Basically, nobody needs to rush out and buy this nude, it's nothing new.

My only MUST HAVE from this collection is the 'Mean and Green' nail polish. I could easily wear this everyday for the rest of my life, it's a satin nail varnish with a holographic shimmer. It looks like a deep dark green with purple, green, gold and gray shimmers. FYI: It sold out at the preview!

It translates beautifully on the nails just like it looks in the bottle. However it did need 3 coats, but it applies so nicely with no streaks that it isn't much hassle. The colour changes when you move your nails it's just beautiful, I LOVE it - It's a dupe for Orly's 'Space Cadet' which is very hard to get hold of. The other 2 polishes were pretty too but nothing special.

Mac also gave us 2 items, I was happy to see 'Brior Rose' beauty powder and a 'Zoom lash' mascara.

Look at the compact packaging? I'm sorry but it looks VERY cheap and childish, I hate it so I have to depot it!

Once you get over the packaging you can appreciate the beauty powder which is very pigmented.

It's a pinky plum blush colour and has no glitter or shimmer.

It's in between 'Well Dressed' and 'Tippy', which is good for me as I really have to layer on 'Well dressed' and I never use 'Tippy' as it's too scary for me.

How do you feel about Venomous Villains?

Venomous Villains is available online on Monday and hits the stores on Thursday in the UK.
