Out with the old...

Yes, I played around with my skin care again, I always do. As a blogger and a very interested and curious individual I'm always looking for the next best thing which is actually not very healthy. Last week I explored AHA moisturisers and my skin broke out REALLY badly. I am also a picker, I pick and poke at anything that resembles a spot and make it 10X worse. Discussing my frustration with my husband, he suggested I use the moisturiser he's using and stick to it. I chucked all of my never ending skin care products into a bag and out of sight.

Bye bye my loved ones!

In with the new!

The moisturiser my husband uses is by Neutrogena and is the oil free version. I actually purchased it for myself about 3 months ago, used it once and that was that.

Why oil free? Well, up until 2 years ago I never EVER got spots, when I did I started wearing foundation which made it worse. My skin without makeup is normal, however when I wear make up I get a oily t-zone, therefore oil free products without any spot fighting ingredients is great for me, as I don't want my skin to get used to salicylic acid.

I got the oil free face wash and make up remover to match, they are currently on offer for 3 for 2 at Boots. The moisturiser is actually very moisturising and the face wash lathers up nicely. The make up remover is nice but I still feel like I need a eye makeup remover when I wear a lot of make up.

I have wanted to try the Clarisonic but can not justify the price, I got this face brush from the Botanics range at Boots, it's really soft and in my opinion does the same thing. It works really well with the face wash...

I am currently using the Garnier grape water eye makeup remover which I have repurchased a few times, it's gentle and effective.

My overflowing skin care box is now filled with what I need. It actually feels quite liberating.

Sometimes you have to put your faith in to science (in my case Neutrogena) as natural isn't always best.

Have you tried this oil free range, if so what do you think?

From now on....

  • I will stick to this regimen for 2 months solid even if my skin goes bananas.
  • I will not pick and squeeze at my spots even if they are shouting at me!

My advice? Stick to what works for you and don't experiment!
